When you partner with Journeys by Jacqy, I take the stress out of travel planning so you can focus on counting down the days to your trip. Whether you're dreaming of an all-inclusive beach resort, a multi-stop European adventure, or a relaxing cruise, my process is designed to be clear, collaborative, and entirely stress-free.
If you've recently submitted an inquiry or are thinking about booking, here is a transparent, step-by-step look at what to expect when planning your vacation with me!
Step 1: Submit Your Inquiry & Schedule Your Call
Your journey begins when you fill out one of my quick inquiry forms on my website. To ensure I craft an itinerary that fits your vision, every new client schedules a required 15-minute consultation call.
During this brief chat, we’ll discuss:
Your ideal travel dates, destination ideas, and travel style.
Who is traveling (families, couples, groups, or solo).
Your budget and non-negotiables.
Why the consultation call matters: I value your time and investment. This call allows me to verify that your trip goals align with realistic options and budget parameters before moving forward into the research phase.

Step 2: The Research & Planning Retainer
To begin crafting your custom travel itinerary or group experience, I collect an upfront, non-refundable Research & Planning Retainer. This planning retainer compensates for the time, expertise, supplier negotiations, and dedicated research required to curate your personalized options before bookings are made.
The best part? Your retainer is designed to work as an investment directly toward your trip!
How It Works & What's Included:
For Standard Vacations & Leisure Trips: I charge a Research & Planning Retainer ranging from $50 to $150 per destination, established during our initial consultation based on trip complexity and scope.
What's Included: Up to two (2) customized trip proposals.
Retainer Credit: When you confirm and book your primary trip component with me within 21 days (3 weeks) of receiving your proposal, 100% of your retainer is applied directly as a credit toward your final trip balance.
For Destination Weddings & Group Events: Group travel involves significantly more logistics—including resort rate negotiations, room block setup or flexible group codes, perk tracking, and serving as the main point of contact for all your guests.
Retainer Pricing Structure: Your Group Retainer is established during our initial consultation based on the scope of your research:
$250 Base Tier: Single-resort management (when you already have your resort picked out).
$450 Mid Tier: Multi-resort research & comparison proposal (up to 3 resorts within 1 destination).
$600 Full Tier: Multi-destination research & comparison proposal (up to 3 resorts total, across a maximum of two (2) countries/regions).
What's Included: Group contract research, venue matching, and initial proposals for up to three (3) resort properties.
Retainer Credit: Once your event reaches a minimum of 10 rooms booked through my agency (whether under a formal group contract or as individual guest reservations linked to your group), the full retainer amount is applied directly as a statement credit toward the couple’s or group leader’s personal booking!
What Happens Next?
Once your retainer agreement is signed and payment is complete, the exciting work begins! I dive straight into researching venues, comparing rates, and designing your initial custom proposal.

Step 3: Receive Your Custom Trip Proposal (Within 72 Hours)
Once your planning deposit is submitted, the magic happens behind the scenes. Within 72 hours (unless a different timeline is agreed upon during our call), you will receive a interactive Trip Proposal.
Your proposal will feature:
Vetted Recommendations: Carefully selected accommodations, cruise lines, or flight packages tailored to your budget and preferences.
Transparent Pricing & Inclusions: A clear breakdown of what’s included (e.g., transfers, resort credits, room categories, or tour excursions).
Easy Mobile & Desktop Access: Review your itinerary from your phone or laptop whenever it's convenient for you.

Step 4: Fine-Tuning & Revisions
Your feedback is an essential part of the process! We will review the proposal together to address any questions, make adjustments to room types, refine flight schedules, or tweak excursions until the itinerary is exactly how you want it.

Step 5: Booking & Managing Your Trip
Once you select your favorite option, I handle all the heavy lifting:
Securing Your Booking: I process your deposit or payment directly with trusted travel suppliers.
Payment Plans: Where applicable, I set up low-deposit options and manage key payment deadline reminders so you don't have to worry about missing a date.
Ongoing Concierge Support: From handling special requests with the resort to monitoring schedule updates, I manage your reservation right up until you return home.

Step 6: Bon Voyage!
Before you depart, you’ll receive a complete, easy-to-access travel document package containing all confirmation details, transfers, vouchers, and emergency contact instructions. All that’s left for you to do is pack your bags and enjoy your vacation!
